Late post on my round-up, but you have to excuse shell shock. Of course the real problem was that I didn’t hate it.

AC, not to be confused with the former Nas collaborator AZ, is back for round two with his Attack of the Blogs Part 2 mixtape. Part 1 was definitely a jumpoff and if you aren’t familiar with AC, this guy doesn’t release a track unless it’s the best product he’s got. Also, the man bodied an Apple song. Come on. Some people do commercial tracks, AC does tracks off commercials. Many of New York’s finest up and comers on this guy too. This is actually a compilation of 20 songs AC released over May 29th on 20 different blogs.

What’s Good?: “Crush” Feat. XV, “If You Wanna” Feat. ESSO and Harlem’s Cash, “You’re So Lame”

Chicago probably has the most progressive hip-hop scene at the moment, has had it for a while. Pugs Atomz shows us such with Road 2 the Top, a leadin to his upcoming album Roof Top. Pugs teams up with a couple NY guys for some songs, but meshes well with the difference of approach each region comes with on the same song. Chicago has been giving Pugs love for some time and he seems to be reaching out to the East Coast now.

What’s Good?: “Duane and Whitley,” “Winners” Feat. 6th Sense

There was some bad news for The Mighty when his new album, The Ecstatic, leaked, but a bootleg and compilation from way back when was dug up and thrown back out. I’m always big into some hard to find tracks, especially if it’s Black on Both Sides and Black Star era Mos Def. This is just on that feel good tip.

What’s Good?: “Little Brother” Feat. Talib Kweli (make sure to download here, it’s on the tracklist but not folder), “Body Rock” Feat. Tash and Q-Tip, “Universal Magnetic”

Still jonesin’ for good music? Jay-Z did release his street track for The Blueprint 3, “D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)” produced by No I.D. and The Clipse and Pharrell Williams track also leaked early. Otherwise, get ready for next week, that B.o.B. vs. Bobby Ray from Bobby Ray/B.o.B. mixtape is going to be fire.
