This week, CD release Tuesday features two excellent releases from two of the best in indie pop.

The first is Around The Well, the new album from Iron And Wine.

This album features Sam Beam, the creative force behind the moniker, returning with a bevy of B-sides and rarities from throughout his excellent career

If the arrangements are close to as entrancing as they were on 2007’s The Shepard’s Dog that, then this new record will be more than worth a buy.

Also coming out this week is Romanian Names, the new release from John Vanderslice.

Featuring an excellent batch of songs that vary from heart-wrenching emotional tales and tongue-in-cheek sarcasm that’s hard to determine whether to take seriously.

Along with references to foreign places that are peppered through the record to keeps things fresh, the easy pop arrangements make this a great record for a lazy afternoon.

Stay tuned to the Dive blog this week for a review of both releases.
