The Love Language – Gerrard Hall – March 26

I’ll resist my instinct to was poetic on this excellent little treat the students of UNC were provided with last night since you’ve read about the festivities once already if you’ve been paying attention to the DTH’s Web site. Suffice it to say that the Huguenots, the University’s best student band by a good margin and the Love Language, the band most likely at this juncture to be the next big thing out of the Triangle, proved for the best show that I have personally seen on campus in a good while. In fact, I can only think of two criticisms for the event. One, this sort of thing doesn’t happen nearly enough at a school with a ridiculously great music scene laying all around it. Two, there were not nearly enough students at the free concert. Because I think it’s pretty safe to say it’s a treat that the Love Language will soon be too big to provide.

Luckily for those who missed it, the Love Language played the gig to help promote its upcoming CD release party on Saturday, so if you got left behind this time, you can make up for it just a little while. Max Indian and Oh Captain My Captain also play. Show starts at 10 p.m. and costs $7.
