This week offers a few interesting releases to burn up your headphones while walking through the snow (maybe?). Perhaps the most anticipated of the bunch is the self-titled debut from The Pains of Being Pure of Heart. The group’s pure pop is a true treat.

Additionally, the new Howlies record gets the highest of recommendations. Monday night at Local 506, the group ripped straight through it, displaying the dirty garage pop they’ve become known for. Really guys, this record should be great and might just get these fellows from Atlanta the attention they deserve.

If you read Dive last Thursday, you already know I love the Willie Nelson covers record from Phosphorescent. It is truly a beautiful tribute. It gets its release this week as well. Go grab it.
