Joe Romeo and the Orange County Volunteers – Local 506 – Wednesday, Sept. 17

For those of us in the Triangle who were unlucky enough not to be alive in 1966 and see Dylan tour with the Hawks (which is most of us) we are at least blessed enough to have satisfactory substitute in the form of Joe Romeo and his Orange County Volunteers. Harnessing the full-power of ’60s psychedelic blues and giving it an impeccable sense of pop melody, the band provided a thrilling and entertaining set at Local 506 Wednesday night. Charming country rockers Soft Company and Austin’s Brothers and Sisters also delivered beautiful, melody-driven sets.
